I reckon January 3rd because there are over 7 million users downloading the update to their console. At Christmas we get all the noobs join so it'll probably lag some more then.

True. But the noobs take a few days to actually get online. I seriously hope that this all gets resolved really soon. Microsoft should really do what Sony do and release firmware updates on the latest game discs rather than have so many people download the update at once.

I think the opposite, people will be getting giftcards to Best Buy, Circuit City, etc and people that wanted a 360 will probably get one after Christmas if they didn't already get one.

Very true. A lot of my friends are waiting until after Christmas so that they can buy an Xbox cheaply, I imagine other people have this idea too.
It's a pretty cool update,I like it. The only game I've tried playing since downloading it is Halo 3,and it worked fine,save for the load times being a bit longer.

How would it stop you playing games..? You can't play on xbox live unless you download the update..

COD4 doesn't work at all with the new update... You can maybe be in a game, which it takes about 10 minutes to get into one, for about 30 - 45 seconds before everyone disconnects..
