Tomorrow. If my parents didnt lie to me haha.

Please dont say "dont buy arcade, buy elite"...money is kinda tight so i cant afford to and i wanted an 360 for a long time...i still play the original sometimes haha.

But the thing is what games do you recomend i should get as my first ones? I was thinking about the orange box, especially it being 20 bucks now...

Also i had 2 questions.

Arcade comes with 256mb memory built in. So i am wondering can i save games with that? and what about demos? videos? etc...

and second one, because it does not have wireless pickup, i can just run my ethernet cable to it right?

thanks for all help.

You WILL want a harddrive, particularly if you get The Orange Box. The Orange Box is a great bundle of games, and one of the best value titles available for 360 - 4 good single player games, and 1 multiplayer. Unfortunately for Arcade owners the saves are 20MB per game, so 80MB for all 4 (single player, online doesn't need saves). Considering the Arcade only comes with 256MB of space, and the compulsory NXE update is 128MB, using 80MB for one title doesn't exactly leave you with much room to play with. If money really is tight, and you cannot buy a model including the harddrive I would strongly advise you look in store to see what they can offer, even if it is a preowned one. the 20GB and 60GB HDD are no longer available on new consoles, deemed obsolete, but even a 20GB drive will give you so much more freedom with what you can do gaming wise. Preowned they should be fairly cheap and in the price range of a preowned game. If you want to download demos, DLC, videos, even arcade games, you will need more space than the 256MB built in memory unit the Arcade comes with.

what about the internet acess...just standard ethernet cable that runs into your comp would be used?

and what about suggestions for any other games? L4D2? COD2? AC 1-2?

i am sure my mom will buy me a game to go with it haha..

thanks once again

Edit: oh. thanks for suggestions mate. and i already beat halo 3..my mate late me borrow his a while ago. great game though. what about ODST?

I did just what you are going to do. I have a tight budget, and when I got my xbox 360 i got the arcade version thinking that the memorycard was all i needed. But now, a few months later my "save location is full" so Ihave to get a hard drive. My budget is still tight, so I got the 20 gb hard drive off eBay. I ordered it three weeks ago, but i haven't gotten it yet. Its probably lost in the christmas chaos. I hope I'll got it soon though, cuz I want to try out Portal and Half-Life from The Orange Box, but I cant start a new game, because my save location is full. Also, you can't download demos or anything like that to the memory card. Or, I guess you can, but mine doesn't have enaugh avalible memory. In other words, I wish I'd gotten the Elite version.

So, if you get the arcade version, you'll probably regret it, but its your choice.

But to answer your question:If you want game recommendations, check you the game recommendation sticky.

Yes the ethernet cable will work - a much cheaper solution than the overpriced wireless connection. As for games, have a look in the 360 Game Recommendations thread stickied at teh top of this forum. Since we don't know your personal likes and dislikes it breaks it down in categories to help you choose. New games will be a lot more expensive than older ones, so if you really want a realistic racing game and want Forza 3, but don't have $40-50, then go for Forza 2 which can be found preowned for much less. Because you are only getting a 360 several years after release you can benefit from a big back catalogue of great games that are now down to bargain prices for you. Even on a tight budget there are a lot of games you can go for, as long as you are happy to hold off from playing the latest new titles.
