I bought a play and charge kit from GAME over here in the UK, I think it's an official one because it has the hologram on the underside of the connector.

Anyway, it's only done a full charge once in about a month. When I turn the console off with it still plugged it, the red light is on for about 15 seconds before it goes green and turns off the console properly...it refuses to charge unless I leave the xbox powered fully on which is not a viable solution.

Any help? Would it be wise to buy a rapid charge kit instead?

Yeah, i got my Play + Charge from GAME aswell (uk). It has to keept he Xbox on when charging, i hated it aswell, but you keep it on for around 15 mins, and charges enough for 4-5 hours, I think 15 mins for 4-5 hours is great. You can also just plug it into your computer and have it charge like that.

How do you get it to charge from a computer? I plugged it in to my rear USB and I just got the message Found New USB Device and it didn't let me ID it or charge the pack.

Yeah, once you plugged it in, and you get the message ignore the message, cancel it or something. As long as that little red light shows on your controller - it means it's charging.

Alright, don't do anythibg with the controller except for plug it in, dont press the button or anything.

If you don't get the light, either keep switching USB ports or taking it out and putting it back in. I have two usb ports on the front side of my harddrive on my computer, it didn't work first time for me either, but i kept taking it out and putting it back into the other usb and eventually it began charging, once you found the usb that it charges on keep using that one.

I only have two free as my mouse is USB and I have a USB wireless internet reciever thing....neither charges it...sometimes the green light flashes on for a split second when I plug it on, but it does not charge.

most computers have usb ports in the front and back of the tower ... I have both plugNplay kit and a charge station ... the charge station is the way to go ... ur batteries? stay wireless. Just switch the battery ... i do both depending if 'im playing online or single player ... when i'm online i do the plug being that i cant pause :P .... on the charge station .. once the batteries charged, it automatically stops charging the battery so it doesnt burn out ....

My front ports aren't connected up inside due to power cable restrictions.

Are they USB 2 ports? I'm no expert on the USB standard but wasn't it USB 2 that introduced ports that could be used for charging devices?

I WOULD use my PC to charge the battery pack, but it does the same thing as when I shut the 360 down with it plugged in. Green light after about 10 seconds (from being fully drained).

I am so God-forsakenly mad at that thing, it's unreal.

I hated the plug n play kit. I gave mine away as soon as the quick charger came out. I love that thing.
