Play + Charge kit QUICK QUESTION! HELP!

the quick charge kit is pricey for my right now.

If i got the Play and Charge kit, does it charge the battery pack if the 360's power is not on?

Like if i was playing and the battery ran low, could i shut down the console, but plug the wire into the 360's USB port, and have the battery charge while the 360 is not on (but obviously still plugged in?)

I got a charger that plugs into an electric outlet and you get 2 rechargable 360 controller batteries. This way i always have them charging but if i ever get low on battery i just pull out a charged one out and replace it with empty one. BTW the charge up really quick and i got it for i think $15-$20 and it wasnt on sale.

yes u can charge it by hooking the usb into your computer, but it will not charge if u have it in the 360 and the 360 is off
