So, as I am sure you all have noticed there is a large population of ignorant 16 year old kids on Live. They all seem to think that everyone is the N-word. Hiding behind the anoyminity of Live these kids drop this word like its common vocabulary.

Is submiting a player review and avoiding them or even filing a complaint worth it? The time it takes to do is one thing, but if it just falls on deaf ears then it was a total waste. I know im preaching to the converted here, but I have played games online since Starcraft and I have never ran into such immaturity and ignorance that infects live.

It doesnt hurt to file a complaint. I'm sure M$ isn't completely ignoring the complaint system. If you report someone for the language they use, I think it takes more time for them to be punished. So every report counts.

I honestly think that you should have to have a credit/debit card in your own name to have XBL. Keep some of kids off of it atleast.

Its not just Live, go play a pick up game at your local park and you'll find some stupid kid talking smack. Personally I'd smack the living sh%$ out of them but then I'd go to jail or they'd pull a gun and its not worth it.

Best thing is to leave negative Feedback, that way, you'll never have to worry about running into that person again.

First of all, it's just a word.  If they were yelling at a black person calling them that, it would be different but I don't see the big deal in just saying it.  Second, if you want to avoid them, then just do it.  However, unless they are saying it in a purposfully racist way, filing a complaint is uncalled for since just saying it doesn't violate the Xbox Live terms of service, which is what complaints are for.

It seems to me that it is useless to report people, but you may as well because you never know.

I will tell you one thing, the N-word is by all means a major part of the vocabulary of gamers. Without the N-word, gamers would feel emptiness and loneliness when wanting to insult someone.

I hope your refering the N-Word meaning Noob. This guy is reffering it to another word that only shows somebodies ignorance and lack of vocabulary! I play games and I do not use that word, I by no means feel emptiness or loneliness! if your refering it as Noob, then forgive me!

Ignorance in the most profound of forms^^^^. The black community is attempting to ban this word for a reason. It is derogatory, period. I am white but I will be damned if some kid just calls me that or I use this word to others. He used the complaint system appropriately. Don't defend idiocy...as you know what that just makes you.

wow okay first off negative reviews do nothing. you can leave bad feedback and still wind up running into kids on gears a bunch of times. also no amount of complaints or bad feedback seem to do anything. many different sites have tried to get booted to test the system and even with over a thousand compaints filed and bad reviews, they were still playing online. Secondly, regardless of what N word you guys want to talk about Noob N****r or N*ppy (i still cant beleive that one is now wrong, thanks al) Look you guys know its offence but by complaining and moaning to everyone about stupid kids using the word you let them win. They only say it to bother people and annoy them and big surprize it works. just hit the mute and then anything they say will end up being like what most stupid kids amount to......nothing.

No, not noob. I would've said noob if it was noob, but it isn't noob.

As a black male who's used the term in the past I personally feel its time to put it to rest regardless if its used a term of endearment or not.  More and more people are offended by the term whether black or not.  After just watching a clip on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wD-UpHlB9no) regarding the exact term its definitely time for change.

As far as the immature and ignorant go, you just have to report and avoid them.  I hate playing against them myself, at times just staying away from multiplayer, but then again when you find gamers who are worthwhile playing with it brings more fun to Live altogether.

Accepting friend requests from mature players regardless of age.

Now Im going to pretend as though you meant to put a large amount of "children" and not just 16 year olds. I say this because I am 16 years old and take it as an offence, that you would single out the one age group when its fact that more then just a large amount of 16 year olds say the N-Word. Now I make it a point before any match I play in Gears, or GRAW, or Rainbow Six to say that if the N-Word is said even once(and I say N-Word, not the full word) that that person will be booted.

Now I know multiple people that are in the same boat as I, the word is offensive, and is over used in the X-Box Live community but its not only 16 year olds that say it, there are a large amount of people in their 20's that make it a priority to say the word just to say it.

Now the next time you decide to go on a rant about how "a Large amount of 16 year olds have said or done this" make sure you get a large sample from X-Box Live, get your number's straight and make a diagram, because its not only 16 year olds who say it, there's 10 year olds, to as old as 30 that say it. They are ignorant and not fun to play with online, not just because they say the word repeatedly, because from experience thats not the only thing they'll say repeatedly.

And like someone said before its only a word, I understand that, but quite frankly its a word that gets annoying to hear after its been said almost 500 times.

I think most of them do it because they know that thereisn't anything the other person can do about it. But, I can bet you any amount of money, that if they were standing next to two black guys , they wouldn't even DREAM of using the N-word.
