i have a 60 inch plasma in my living room, and i've been wanting to hook my 360 up there as the picture is just crystal clear, is HD, etc etc. but i now have it hooked up to my 180 inch projector downstairs, which yes is rly awesome because of the size but is just not as sharp.. my main question: is it bad to play the xbox 360 on plasmas or LCDs? I've heard that playing it burns the screen into the actual tv, so u can actually see it when the tv's off; is this true? cuz i rly would rather not have some **** scary ass jericho monster on the screen looking at me 24/7...

From what I've heard, playing on a plasma for too long will give you the "burn in" effect, but LCD's are supposed to beimmune to the burn in. I've played for quite a long time on my brother-in-law's plasma and can't remember ever getting the burn in, so i think you would be safe. Just don't let it sit there on the same screen (like a pause screen where everything is always in the same place) forhours on endand you should be fine.

Yes plasma's can get a screen burn if the image is still long enough, but this is quite a while. LCD's don't have this problem. The real issue is the console's are hard on the TV's, the fast frame rate changes, bright colors, all of which can reduce the over all life of your TV. hope this helps

yeah, i think it's just on aprolonged stillscreen, or even a continuous demo cycle...like if you turn on the game and never press start, it starts that little demo, you know what i'm talkin about.

if i leave a game on pause, and i know it might be a while, i just turn the tv off, then back on when i'm ready.

That goes for me as well. When something is stationary for too long, it will leave a burn in effect (HUD on Halo for example), but it does go away.
