Playing COD 4 after mass effect seems shallow...

damn you BioWare!

After playing arguably the best game ever for a shooter/rpg fan, mass effect has become my all time No 1 game, and has overtaken COD 4, this is a tragic blow that means whenever i put cod in, i think to myself...i'd rather do another playthrough on Mass effect (done 3, not much more to do) but then all my friends are on COD (these being people i know outside of XBL) so the dilema ensues and i am left a withered husk by the geth...

anyone else had a game reach perfection for you (or near perfection, the mako got boring)

They still wont get it and they still will compare ME to halo 3 and cod4

i dont understand why ppl worship cod4 .. sure its a good game.. but it gets hella old fast. there arent that many weapons to really customize yourself.. imo rainbow six vegas beat it into the ground.. im not flaming it, i still find it to be one of my better games in my collection.. but i understand how you feel about it being shallow.

on another note, halo3,cod4,ME all have a shooting aspect.. some ppl see that as a similarity.. its good to have different views of games.

thats unfortunate because the combat system is a lot better than most RPG's....and the game, overall, is just a masterpiece

I think both games games r tight and they both bring something to the table Mass Effect is cool because of the story and it is differnt from both shooters and most other RPGs but COD4 is cool because it is just a plain great shooter and has a cool explosion NUKES ALL THE WAY

Your comment might ring true for FPS, but comparing an RPG shooter and a FPS doesnt make any sense. Yeah, you do point and shoot, but there's a lot more to Mass Effect than that, so you're comment is baseless.

Yeah you said its an R...P....G. Its doesn't matter, if a RPG had a system for fighting bad guys, where you kick a soccer ball, it would suck every time you want to kill a bad guy, right? SO! what the other guy is saying is that the combat system is so bad that he doesnt want to play it!

ITS A RPG/Shooter. and if the shooter part really sucks, then thats a downfall of the game

i was worried about that, but i really like it. but i dont use my gang much, and i'm a soldier, so that might be why im not seeing the so-called shortcomings in the menus and stuff.

anyway, i play shooter fans predominantly, but i dont see anything wrong with the combat in mass effect. only thing i dont like so far is the Mako.

lol wow, Mass Effect is not really a shooter game, it's mostly RPG with shooting addon, that's all_RA0_

In theory you don't actually ever have to shoot your gun. You can just biotic them to death or use your team mates.
