k so, when i do the Test Xbox Live Connection, it says that IP ADDRESS Failed...
by the way, i am not using a wireless router, i am connecting directly to a modem..

Unplug the modem, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in. The power cord, I mean, so it powers down.

If that doesn't work, go to your Xbox network settings, and click the first block that includes IP and Gateway. Make sure it's set to Automatic.
