Game Informer magazine said that Microsoft is planning on selling their Natal device along with a new console next year. Would you buy it? I just got my Xbox 360 last Christmas, so I'm keeping mine.

thing is it won't

we wouldn've heard more about it. And best reason why they are not is you still see devs making games for the 360 they wouldn't be doing that if there was about to be a new console

I'm not sure I understand the question. Are they releasing Natal with the follow-up to the X360? or releasing it as a new sku of the X360? Personally I think any major hardware that requires major developer interest to succeed (Natal fits that) will fail unless it is bundled with the console when you buy it. The only way natal will be worth anything and not collecting dust in month or so is if it is packaged in with the sequel to the X360.

theres no option for "probably not but maybe." the way the games market is currently, not to mention the marketplace as a whole, i dont see new systems being too viable. for the game market itself, how much further can we push graphics? sure, there will always be further but at this point, the graphics are good enough so that a new console every 4/5 years wont be so profitable. in the larger market, its obviously in a slump. hopefully, we can soon say the recession is ending but when i dont know. even after, i only see software sales going up. obviously, i dont see new consoles coming for atleast 3, maybe 5 more years

Natal & a new console can only be considered if your thinking Microsoft will push Natal to the next gen of consoles. They have pretty much stated that will not happen & it will be released for the Xbox 360. Either way I'm not interested at all.

But I already have an x-box 360 console. Most people posting in this forum probably already have a 360 console. So no, I wouldn't get Natal just because they may pack it in a console bundle. However, I would buy Natal if it had a good game or two that catered to my gaming preferences. Go figure.

No. Natal isn't going to become anything special. Milo will be the only game of note for it and it'll fade away. Then when the new Xbox comes out it'll be a main feature and be used to it's fullest.

as amazing as natal is as a technical peice of machinery, i don't know how well it will do simply becuase game developers do not like making two different versions of the same gamepurely because of a new control system (look at the amount of ports to the wii). so i believe it will be amazing to use, but seriously lack in game quality, simply because game developers are going to b making games for the old control sytem for a very long time. its definitly a step in the right direction, but i'll wait to see the games that are coming out for it first...and i won'thold my breath!

[EDIT] and also i'm almost 100% certain when they say a 'new' console i think theey mean a new SKU or bundle.... not an entirly new console... or if they do then its a lie. microsoft would have not left e3 without talking about it if they had a new console in the pipeline!
