[poll] Oblivion or Mass Effect?

now that ME has been out for a bit, I just wanted to see which one out of Oblivion and Mass Effect you guys thought was better overall. I kinda wanted to pick up one of these sometime soon..

also your reasons as to why would be greatly appreciated too!!

That's a really hard question.

I haven't actually played mass effect, but it looks amazing. If I owned it, I might say mass effect, but I don't know that.

actually I got a few questions too:

1. how is the difficulty of Oblivion?

2. if I do happen to get Oblivion, what type of char do you guys suggest? like idk how it works in oblivion but like using bows? swords? race?

1. Difficulty depends on what level you are when you do the mission

2. if you like using bows go with the wood elf, mix of swords and battle magic go with the dark elf (thats what I use :) ), if you like blunt and awesome strength go with the org

and to answer your question, I like Oblivion cuz there is so much more you can do, especially with the expansions packed in. I put hundreds of hours into Oblvion, Mass Effect is fun but if you want a shooter that bad thats tactical just go with Vegas 1 lor Vegas 2, IMO.

1.The character levelingin oblivion is alittle weird and if you don't level correctly it can get pretty hard but you can just turn the difficulty down alittle.

2.The easiest char to use would probably be a redguard since you wont need to go too deep into magic. Races give certain attributes and boosts in certain skills. Best swords would be one handed and good shield. Bows aren't too difficult to use just pick one up and you'll get how to use it.

Also i'd go with Oblivion because it gives you tons of different things and huge replayability. Go lo0ok at the gamespot's gameguide it'll go into better details regardng char level,abilities,and birth signs.

I have both games and to be honest Oblivion is the best it never gets boring it probably is the best game on 360 ive played it for quite some time now n theres loads of little side quests to do, and caves to explore, i only play as humans and use sword so i dont really know what the other classes and races are like, only used arrow for last thieves quest. overall id definatly have Oblivion in my collection pluss the shriving isles add on is great.

Mass Effect is still a great game just didnt really match up to Oblivion in my opinion id rent them first if i was you and see what one you prefer.

how big of a affect does it have in reality? and is there any penality for turning it down a bit?

I'd have to say Oblivion. There's so much to do, you could play for days without stopping, and there would still be things you haven't seen yet. ME has a better story, and looks better, but Oblivion is just so vast, you can't really get bored. In ME, thee side quests are really repetetive and congusing at some times. So, I'd reccomend Oblivion. They're both incredible, though.
