Now that Crackdown is out, we finally have a decent list of sandbox games to choose from on the Xbox 360, also including Saint's Row and Dead Rising (sorry, I didn't include Oblivion because that's an RPG and it'll also probably dominate the poll lol). Which one is your hands-down favorite?

I'll start it off. First of all, I think that Dead Rising has by far the best and most original concept, but besides that it's only pretty good. Saint's Row has great graphics, but yeah that's about it, imo. I bought Crackdown about a week ago and I'm ADDICTED. I have about 10 hours playtime and I've only done 3 bosses because leveling the character is so fun. Did I mention explosions!? And REALLY HIGH jumping!? And car throwing!? Anyways, that's my opinion. And oh yeah, I have played all of them for at least a couple of hours so I'm not one-sided.

Currently playing: Crackdown

I really don't consider Dead Rising to be a sandbox game

Since you put Dead Rising in there, I took it.  It's easily the best game listed.

I went with Saints Row but I've always been partial to story-based gameplay. Crackdown is amusing, but the "story" is an excuse for you to do crazy random stuff. Which admittedly is fun, but for me, doesn't last.

Dead rising isn't really a sandbox game. Matter of fact it's quite the opposite, the game revolves around you being at a certain place at certain time.

I'm like the Crackdown sandbox. Just jumping around collecting all those orbs is great fun. :D

yeah but you can choose not to do the missions, in fact that is how you get some achievement points by not going along with the set missions. I play it like a sandbox all the time. I guess im a bit partial cause i love zombie survival etc. or anything survival but i especially loe zombie movies. But you can use practically everything as a weapon. Throwing wine bottles FTW.
