Even though I'm not a Halo fan, I have to give it the royal crown over-all. The COD franchise has only struck a cord with the masses(YOURS TRULY)just recently because of MW.
The Halo Series because of the storyline/plot. Halo Combat Evolved was ground breaking when it came out. Also there have been many Halo graphic novels along with that. COD does not have a consistent storyline (excluding modern warfare 1 & 2), so my vote goes to the Halo series.

....And that's the point of the topic that I think most people who picked COD missed. The TC was asking about the series overall...not COD4 vs Halo3. I'm the BIGGEST COD4 whore on the planet "BUT" I picked the Halo "SERIES" to be better then that of the COD series because of the storyline,sales and popularity.
i would go with Call Of Duty. it is much more realistic. it has real guns over halo which has made up guns like the fuel rod gun and the plasma pistol.Though HAlo is really fun to play as COD. I would defineitly call it a tie because halo actually has offline multiplayer.but i'm going with COD because it much more high points. I actually don't have an XBOX but i play all the time with my friends. definitely COD.
though halo does have a deep storyline, COD is about realwar which appeals to me more. halo is made up all the way. invisibility,shields,and made-up guns?They may be real later but they aren't now.

I enjoy both games and i'm good at both aswell but Halo doesn't have the vastness that COD4 does. Halo it's basically..you play your first Multiplayer game and you have EVERYTHING already...there's no new guns, no new perks, all you do is rank up and that's it. I know people say "but it's just to have fun" but to me having fun is to play and have fun while getting the thrill of the game presenting you with new toys to try out lol. COD4 also has prestige so even after you rank up you can always restart so that the game has a longer lifespan. I love Halo but i have to give this to COD4 because of the reasons above but also because Halo's too frustrating. I'm fine with losing but in Halo the only way you get points is if you win. I shouldn't have to play a game where i'm stuck with random people on my team that most often are really bad and make it so i don't get a single point to my rank other than trueskill. It's very frustrating even if you're playing with friends because it feels like you have to try your best 24/7 otherwise you won't get a rank up ever. I know one of my friends was pulling his hair out of his head for a week because he was trying to get to lvl 50 and the game was making him win 30 games in a row...he had won 30 in a row getting a perfection basically every game or two and it wouldn't get him up to lvl 50 and then he lost 1 game and he was down to 47. If anyone read that i give you props......COD: MW2 and Infinity Ward for the win!
