Portal 2 co-op before single player campaign?

Hi guys, just a quick question on Portal 2.

I've just got the game and want to play co-op with my mate. Do you recommend that i complete the single player campaign first? Are there spoilers in the co-op to do with the single player?

You shouldn't need to. The Portal 2 continues the story of Portal 1, but the story wasn't that important to where you'll miss out on anythingimportant form what I've seen.
