I love Portal. It's my favorite part of the Orange box. My only problem with it is that it's extremely short. If it were a stand alone game I would reccomend a rent.

I am not sure why everybody here is flaming people just because they have opinions. I personally can't stand Portal and wonder why everybody thinks it is so unique and innovative. It is basically a very limited rip-off of the far superior Prey, but without the physics, weapons, story, characters, atmosphere, or really any semblance of enjoyable gameplay. I was enraged when I saw Portal win several awards for it's "unique portal-utilizing gameplay". Clearly none of the people handing out this award ever played Prey.

On a seperate note, I cannot stand puzzle games, so Portal may simply be in a category of games that I do not appreciate, but none the less, I seriously had to force myself to play that game for more than 20 minutes and that was more than enough.

You said Portal had bad physics, weapons( IT DIDN'T HAVE WEAPONS! ITS A PUZZLE GAME!), story (You didn't play past 20 min, Portal had the funniest, most creative story this gen), characters (Companion Cube, GLADOS?), Atmosphere (It's a puzzle game!).

I have no idea how you managed to even compare Portal with Prey, the only thing they have in common is that they use portals (not even in the same way)

Did you even play far enough to get the two way portal gun?

That's because you got stuck in the first level. The puzzle was too ahrd for you, and you didnt even have control of any of the guns at that point yet. That's like me saying the next HULK movie will suck because i saw a trailer for it and it bored me.
