I understand as games get older less people play them and you want to waste as little effort as possible on its online servers but it seems odd that EA is flat out canning all its 06 games from online play to help push its sales for the next years games which braught little to the table and hampered sales. Now im not saying that tactic is wrong, yes its sleazy as hell, but i cant fault them for trying to grub as much money as possible. My question comes into play in that without repackaging existing games out on the market for a while, wouldnt all older games have to cease from being sold to avoid a lawsuit? IF you have something like Fight Night Round 3 out in stores in the platinum sales 30 buck bin and on the game it clearly states online play, only Ea pulled the plug on all its older games, wouldnt continued sales of said game be false advertising? promising a feature of the game that clearly no longer exists? Granted today the online is up but most games are getting the boot in sept, and others in novermber including need for speed and FNR3. IT just seems like they would have to alter their boxes to mirror the actual product now, rather then the old box with features that do not exist within the purchase.
Im sure there is some loopholes all over but still, it seems like somethign that could come back to bite them finacially, if not now then in the future. why would people buy any of their games in the future if it will be cut off in a year? They better find a way to make one hell of a product if after a year all we will getr is shoddy single player experiences with weak AI.....
