power brick making a loud noise

my power brick is making a really loud noise it seems like its a fan but i dont think theres fan it, any ideas

If you power brick is making a loud noise then I am sure that is not a good thing. Lol.

Um... power bricks don't make noise. They have no fans. Something is seriously wrong with that. Is it a buzzing noise, like electricity? Like unplug that right now.

Just to reemphasize his emphasis on my original post, yes, unplug it immediately for your own safety and of lesser importance, not ruining your system at the very least.

if its a buzzy sound that isnt a good thing. If you touch it or pull it without turning the system off or outlet, I believe it increases the chance of electric shock because the wire is faulty.

Since forever. I dont know maybe the newer systems dont but the older ones do.

They've always had a fan. Did you ever notice the dust buildup around the holes on each side of the brick. You can even feel a small amout of air coming out if you touch.

Yea i've noticed that and on my new 360 if you move about the brick it makes a weird noise the older models didn't do that :O

My power brick makes a lot of loud noises but, it still works. I've had my xbox in for repairs 3 times already. Oh well when it takes a dump I buy another one hell I already got 2.

find as many of the cheap extension cords u can find and plug em all together then plug as much stuff into them as u can tv, sound system, computer, ect...

Oh and don't forget to plug in your xbox 360

If my calculations are correct it should fix your problem
