i know that incentives for preordering will always be around. but what i do hate is when its bonus stuff in a game, like items, weapons, charactors, maps... thats like saying youre punished for not giving us money in advance... to me preorder is pointless... why? you can just go get the game on release or whatever, i usualy buy used and get the 1 yr warranty... but thats just me. still i cant help but feel like i get back handed for doing so when i see, get this free code with preorder. if it was swag then thats fine, i dont need gears of war 2 playing cards, and a miniture figure of altair isnt all that big a deal, but extra weapons... thats a big deal to me.

I agree. It's crap. What if I'm having financial struggles. When I get out of them then I have to face the wrath of these weapons I'll never get to use.

I have to agree with you on this one too. You always hear about how much effort it takes to create, test, send to verification , etc., from developers about new maps or weapons when we want them added to a game. But they have no problem offering this stuff up AT LAUNCH to people who pre order it.

Weapons dont bother me so much because theyre never as good as the weapons that are already in the game that i like better anyway, but maps is another issue. Remember how in Rainbow Six Vegas if someone on your friends list tried to join you but hadnt bought the "Black Pack" or "Red Pack" yet they werent allowed in the room? Whats going to happen in Vegas 2 when everyone who did NOT pre order, doesnt get the free map that people who did pre order get? Will you NEVER be able to join your friend?

Don't see any point in NOT preordering a game you want.

propaganda... thats what the numbers are, pure PROP-O-GANDA its all a system ment to fool gamers into thinking they must have this titles because everyone else does! and about not preordering... you are giving them money and they make money off your money, you are giving them a free loan... sorry but i think gamestop doesnt really need to borrow my money, but hey thats just me. i will wait till its about 50 or less used... dont feel like being fleeced today.

if your having financial stuggles and can't afford to put down a 5 dollar deposit on a game, you shouldn't be buying games at all....

This isn't totally true, the primary function of a pre-order is to help a store determine how many units of the product they should purchase upon release. The benefits for pre-ordering do 2 things, convince the consumer to buy at one store rather then another (depending on content) and help that store get a better gist of how many copies it will sell.

I like receiving items for pre-ordering games. If I all ready know I'm going to like the game, I pre-order it and get a free weapon for online play, new maps, or something nifty. I wish all developers included an option like that for pre-ordering a game.
