No I never pay that much for a game. I always wait until the price drops significantly.SilverpeelIf it has a decent reserve bonus you can just eBay it and save yourself some money right there. I've gotten up to $20 for artbooks
I preordered Halo 3, and have preordered ODST. Those are the only two. I've loved the Halo series since CE, so I want them ASAP, but I'm not down with standing in a line at midnight to get them. I like other games too, but I'm always okay with waiting a week or two until the rush is over; though I expect that I will preorder Gears 3 when available.
never done it, but im gonna look into it for forza 3.
i can live without the extra car or forza themed usb and tshirt... im lookin 4 discounts lol
tryin to buy it for 50 or less if any1 knows a good place
I don't preorder I just walk in and get a copy when it comes out. At least one of the stores in my area always seems to have a copy.
I very rarrely pre-order games because they're almost never out of stock where I live. The only game I pre-ordered this year was the Special Edition of MW2 but that's cuz I had the money to pay it off and I knew I would get it no matter what cuz I love spending free time at college playing CoD4 online on my pc
I preorder for specials, as in the trade-in 3 games to get EA sports game free (Madden 2010 and NHL 2010). I also preorder games that I really want to make sure to get one on the day it's released (did it for Fallout 3 GOTYE and Dragon Ages).
I even preordered Final Fantasy 12 collector's edition and it shipped almost a year late!
There's no reason at all to order a game at it's regular retail price.
That being said most places do offer incentives to preorder. This season Amazon has been offering 10 dollars back for every big title (Madden, ODST, Modern Warfare) plus free music and release day delivery. Other stores try to sweeten the pot as well.
If you're getting something extra then it's worth it.
If you're paying regular price you're wasting your time
If you are going to buy the game on day one why not?

Because a retailer somewhere is ALWAYS trying to give a better deal
If you preorder a game at regular price you're saying "I don't care about my power as a consumer, I willingly give this establishment the right to give me the worst possible deal and I'm happily paying more to get less"
Well its kind of silly to pre-order a game because you're worried it will sell out. That kind of thing just doesn't really happen these days.
The only reason to pre-order are because you get some 'extras' by doing it, or if you want to 'make payments' on a game slowly over the course of weeks/months so as to not hurt your wallet too much in one go.
I typically dont pre-order because I've had bad experiences with the store not getting their shipment in on time. So I had to sit there a couple days, while if I hadn't of pre-ordered, I could have just walked over to Wal-Mart and gotten a copy there 1st day.
However, I recently pre-ordered Forza 3 and Modern Warfare 2 because I found a really good deal(both games for $90).
whre did you find that deal. i wouldn't mind taking advantage of that lolWell its kind of silly to pre-order a game because you're worried it will sell out. That kind of thing just doesn't really happen these days.

Was a special deal Best Buy had going a couple weeks ago. You could buy one game, and then get another half-off, and this applied to unreleased games, as well. So I got MW2 for $60 and Forza 3 for $30.
