Premium Theme: Are there any really that good?

I've had the same old Xbox Dash theme for quite a while now. A couple days ago I switched it up with the free 1 vs 100 theme. It's not to bad, a nice break for when I'm browsing around the dash.

I'm wondering if anyone has a favorite premium dash that is well worth the marketplace points? I was looking at the Gears of War 2 theme's, but I would prefer to have some reliable feedback.

I think it's the fact that you have to pay for them is ridiculous. I think it would be a nice move for MS to offer them as a reward for completing all the achievements in a game. Chances are if a person goes full clear on a game, they might actually really like the theme of the game for the Xbox Dashboard.

Reallly stupid. But then again it would be $3 that Microsoft would be missing.

I like the premium themes. But at $3, i won't buy alot. I have the Halo 3 and Gears 2 premium themes but thats it. I like what they did with 'Splosion Man. You get a free premium theme with that game just by completeing all 50 levels. Great idea.

I have a Left 4 Dead 2 theme, a Monkey Island theme, and the Halo Splatter Spree Theme.

I change em due to my mood.

If you don't want to pay for one, the E3 perfect dark arcade one was free and is pretty sweet. Also, you can unlock one from Splosion man and Banjo Tooie (but you must have Banjo Kazooie as well).

They are a total waste. These new premium themes are just not that good.

I stopped buying themes when they destroyed the olds ones I bought, when the new xbox exerperience was released.

So if you buy the premium, chances are they are gonna get destroyed by some new update. So why bother?

I have the theme for Marathon: Durandal. Got it a while ago, and I can't remember for sure, but I think it costed me something. I don't regret it. I've always loved Craig Mullins' artwork for that game.

I have the Forza 2 premium and the Aqua Teen premium themes and the biggest difference between the regular and the premiums is the latter give you a better looking 'Friends' panel. I like them, but I don't mind buying points for things either. If everything was free like some people want, then why would they pay people to spend the time to develop more and more of it?

Does anyone honestly ever use their friends panel? The list is so much faster and easier to navigate. Who wants to wait a good 5 seconds before the avatars and names appear?

For that reason, premium themes are stupid. I refuse to buy a theme.

Yes actually, a lot of people do use the 'Friends' panel. If people didn't use it I'm sure they would have gotten rid of it long ago. It's not always about taking shortcuts and doing things as fast as you can, some of us don't mind taking a little extra time to do things and having fun with it. Personally I like to see what kind of goofy things my friends have done with their avatars because we enjoy the NXE, but the stock backgrounds are horrendous. But, the most important thing is that the OP didn't ask you your opinion on whether you think they are stupid or not, he asked if there were any that were good.

The one theme I would possibly pay for is Ninja Gaiden. I cant find this preview anywhere on youtube
