I'm getting a 360 soon and I'm not sure which one to go with. I like the fact that the elite comes with HDMI cables, but is there any discernible between that and component cables in terms of visual quality? Also, is the biggest hard drive necessary? What exactly do you download besides demos and movies? Also, can you download any movie or only certain movies? How much does it cost to download movies and can you download HD DVD quality movies or just regular DVD quality? To those of you that have the premium or the elite, are you happy with the one you chose or do you wish you had gone with the other?mysteryman2024When I got my 360 a few months ago I decided to go with the elite. At that time the premiums did not support HDMI was a good reason to pick up the elite for me. The HDD really is the biggest thing. It's much less to get an Elite that to purchase a premium and pick a larger HDD later on. It's nice to download videos and demos off of XBL and not need to worry about clearing out old demos and videos I no longer watch or play, I'm lazy like that. You also will need to store game updates and games saves on your HDD so keep that in mind when decided if you need that HDD space.
It depends on the game. If the games is more taxing on the 360 than it runs louder to better cool itself. To my knowledge Microsoft has done nothing so far to make the elites run any cooler than the premiums.
I also prefer the whiter over the black. It also sucks that Microsoft does not release any black accessories. My 360 looks a little silly being black but having a white wireless network adaptor.
