Huh when?
Is there even a difference in HDMI with the premium...?MickeyTheNinja
They're basically Elites inside a white chassis with a 20GB HDD. IIRC they have a redesigned motherboard and an additional heatsink for cooling. They also feature the BenQ drives that run quieter than the Hitachi drives and don't scratch the discs.

I live just south of Chicago. Best Buy seemed to be the only place that had them too, all other places got shipments of the non-HDMI Premiums.

Yeah, we got a lot of Xbox360s with Top Spin 2 in last weekend at the Best Buy I work at but we didn't get any in with HDMI so the wait continues.
So those with the HDMI Premium or Elite. How do you use an optical audio cable while using HDMI?TimothyB
If your TV has an HDMI port, it most likely has an optical out. If so, go from your Xbox to your TV via HDMI, than from your TV to your receiver via Optical. That's the only way I can think of. My HDMI cable BROKE inside my TV port. Finally got it removed with pliars but have yet to exchange it so right now I am having to use the included component cables.

I was never sure my tv, or most other HDMI tvs, would even accept Dolby Digtial 5.1 over HDMI, but just stereo. I mean why support it for stereo speakers and include expensive decoders to even pull stereo out of the DD5.1 signal. So I just never expected a tv would be able to accept DD5.1 from HDMI and then route it to the Optical output to a receiver.

This is the reason I still use component with my HDTV. I would rather have optical out and 5.1 sound than to go through my TV and have it downgraded. The picture still looks fantastic.[QUOTE="TimothyB"][QUOTE="Col_Kilgore"][QUOTE="TimothyB"]So those with the HDMI Premium or Elite. How do you use an optical audio cable while using HDMI?axel2374

The picture still looks fantastic.I posted the question for this in my tv's official thread at avsforum.com. I've since got a response that one guy is using HDMI from the Elite and optical out from the elite to his receiver. He's not home right now to double check which AV cable, like VGA or Component, he connected to get the optical cable output while using HDMI. I hope this is true and he is not mistaken.
