This is not fact. Only speculation. And I know some of you already have one.
Since receiving my repaired 360 (my launch one finally kicked the bucket last month), I only got to play it for about an hour before it too decided to visit the Microsoft gods. So, I made the decision to buy a brand new one and not deal with the vicious cycle that many of you have gone through.
I did my research and found out how to locate the new engineered model, codenamed "Falcon", by looking for the 175w label on the side of the box it comes in. Here's where it gets interesting. I have been to 3 Best Buys, 2 Wal Marts, 2 Targets, 2 Circuit City's, and 2 Gamestops. Out of all of those stores, thay collectively had 7 Xbox 360 Premiums (but plenty of Arcade models). They were all of the 203w type. On top of that, one of those Best Buys had 5 of those 7. Do the math. My theory is that Microsoft is letting their stock run down in these stores before flooding the market with the "Falcon" model. I asked some of the employees when they expect a shipment and their answer was "We don't know, we haven't seen a shipment of Premium or Elites in some time. But we get the Arcade model regularly". (Which are all 203w).
Hmmmm.........makes you wonder, doesn't it?
