Price Drop...

Think MS will respond to Sony's price drop with something of their own?

I know their GamesCom presentation is tomorrow at around 10.

there are rumors that the elite will replace the pro console and it will drop to $299.99. I don't know about the arcade model though...

It's probably just so they can jack up the price of the PS3 slim. Sony makes so many SKU's it's crazy. They release a PSP special edition bundle for every PSP game that gets released...Mau-Justice

If MS drops the arcade then makes elite $299 and pro $199, we would see Xbox trump Sony.

Supposedly they're pulling the Pro -- maybe the Arcade version will start having a small hard drive (20GB?) and become a de facto Pro model. I actually think if they stick to the current Arcade, Sony gains the advantage here. $299 for an Elite compared to $299 for a PS3 with Blu-ray capabilities and wireless is an easy choice in my book. I'm really excited about the new PS3 and will probably get one after sitting on my hands for 3 years waiting for the thing to drop to a reasonable price.
