Do think that by the end of the summer that Microsoft will anounce a price drop on the 360?

It would be pointless for them to do that the end of the summer. Remember that they still have to make money for what they are going to lose from the three year warranty. Maybe some time next year or if they put out a new system.BIGJosher
I'm pretty sure that they will have a price drop before 2008

Hopefully. Either way, I'm buying one on the 29th of August.
Right now I'm guessing the Halo 3 launch will coincide with new $199 Core, a $299 Premium and $399 Ultimate. Or, they could soak the fans to play Halo 3 at launch, to pay off all that extra Ring-of-Death support money, then cut the price right before Black Friday.
It has to be coming this year.....the question is when.
(WARNING: When reading the next sentence know this THIS IS NOT TRUE but it may happen because Microsoft likes money and they know they'll make a lot if they do this.) Then after Halo 3 launched they'll end up launching yet another new 360 all redisgned with Falcon and more lightweight and stuff and everyone will buy it like Sony did with the PS2 and PS2 Slim.HXCgamer1563
idunno. they didnt do that with the first xbox. i guess they could, but why bother.

Better be before my birthday (December 15th) becuase I know my mom would get me a 360 if it was $300-$350 that and then with my birthday money I'll get some games then get some for Christmas and If I have enough money left over get a new LCD WIDESCREEN Monitor with a DVI and VGA input so I can play on my computer.

(WARNING: When reading this paragraph know I am an idiot and I know jack **** about marketing most of this stuff other people told me so please don't flame me.) Microsoft's answer to the Three Year Warranty money loss is going to be Halo 3 as Peter Moore said himself it will be the largest recorded launch in the world. I can't even imagine how much money they are going to make plus how many people are going to be signing up for Xbox Live for years just for Halo 3 and all the fanboys are gonna buy the Halo 3 Edition plus all the accessories being released that are Halo 3 themed. Halo 3 will be a gigantic explosion for Xbox 360 and with the launch off all those new games and especially Rock Band it's a Harmonix game and look at the Guitar Hero franchise it's a gigantic success so both of those games are going to make a giant impact along with Mass Effect and Assassian's Creed most of the good games of E3 and the ones coming out this year are going to be on 360. And Microsoft will end up having something to do with the rumored Halo Movie. This most likely won't resolve all of the loss but it will help. I agree with everything you pretty much said. Halo will really bring in Da' Cash and there already making money now so why change anything. (also as for the redesign.. why would you want a lighter console.. its not like your gunna carry it in your pocket or something..)

(WARNING: Once again while reading this know that I know jack **** about marketing and most of this was told to me by other people those other people being me, myself, and I) Or just a small design in general you carrying it easier which some people do I guess if there's a lan party or something which no one does because there's Xbox Live now but whatever. Hell they could do it and people would buy it and just paint a cool design on it and model it so I looks cooler and it will work it worked like a charm for PS2. Between the end of December 2006 and end of May 2007 they shipped and sold like 80 million consoles that's impressive plus with the new graphics and the sweet games it'll be amazing. They didn't do it will the old Xbox and look it didn't beat out PS2 in console sales even though it have Halo 1 and Halo, Xbox Live, and better graphics because it was big and not really heavy but not light and it was expensive. But if they cut price, redesign it would be a smart choice because it would appeal to gamers and with the new game line-up it will dominate the market.
i hope more on the hard drives then the 360 it self but ya xbox now needs to keep up to Sony and give us a price drop of some kind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(maybe at TGS or XO3)!!!!!?!!!!?!!!!!?JQuizzle757
I think if they dropped the HDD, then the console itself(at least the premium and elite) would come down in price as well. And did you mean X07?

This is completely off-topic, but you have the same birthday I do. Awesome. :D
As for the price drop, who knows. It would definitely be smart for them to make one soon, especially since the Elite and the 60GB PS3 are basically the same price now, but...well, none of the console companies are exactly showing signs of genius this generation.
