private chat wont work

i try to join my friends private chat and it wont work, same thing for him, it just says joining chat for a few secs and then ends, also we cant join eachothers games, am i on crack or is it live?

maybe its happening to other people aswell, i dunno,

Im the same and its been doin it for ages, also I tried signing out and back in again and it didnt work and wont let me chat to any of my friends at all
