My elite just rrod on saturday. This will be my 4th xbox and my 2nd elite. What's the probability of them giving me a new elite especially if I call and give them hell about the number of xbox's I've gone through?ElPadillaYou think getting a "new" one instead of a "Certified Replacement Console" is gonna stop the next one from getting RRoD? Your first 360 to RRoD would have been new at one time. Same with your first Elite. It was new, and got RRoD. Them sending you a "new" one doesn't make a difference. But to answer your question anyway, from what I know, your chances are slim. Barely anybody gets a new console, for any reason.
^^ What he said, your chances are slim to none. My buddy has gone through 7 systems and they still won't hook him up with a new one.nickdastickWow...7? That's gotta suck. But even so. They shouldn't have to give people brand new consoles. The replacement consoles are as good as new, believe it or not. I just got my 360 back yesterday, and it looks brand new, even though it's not. It's also quieter than my other 360, which is an Arcade model, so it's pretty new.

The only difference I can see is the hardware because they don't put the new hardware in there which I think they should. Then the systems would have much less of a chance of crapping out.
maybe you should have bought a warrenty where you bought yoour xbox 360..tough **** if you didnt want to shell out an extra 100 dollars for a warranty.
LOl if i get RROD i just take back and get a NEW xbox......god im smart
1. are these used in well ventalated areas?
2. I barely play mine in the summer until it's dark.
3. I never play more than 1 - 3 hours at a time 4 hours tops 6 if I'm stuck.
I'm still on my 1st 360.
I've spent more money on the original xbox failures and odds and ends than the 360.
I had a launch 360 that RRod'd a couple of years ago. I sent mine lauch console away and they sent me back a brand new one. SO it does happen. Eddie5vs1"A couple years" ago, they were replacing all 360's with new ones. That was before they started the whole "certified replacement console" thing. At the time it happened to you, they probably didn't have a warehouse full of refurbished 360s.

I'm glad to see that you've taken excellent care of your console, and I agree with you that many of the RRoD issues are due to user error. At the same time though, there is no excuse that you have to wait until dark to play your console.[QUOTE="Eddie5vs1"]I had a launch 360 that RRod'd a couple of years ago. I got my launch console in 05 and had to replace it in 07, so by then there was probably already a warehouse full some where. I understand what you're trying to say though, back in 07 there was a much higher chance of getting a brand new console back from MS.
there is no excuse that you have to wait until dark to play your console. Eddie5vs1Yeah...no worries there, since that's absolutely not the case. AGAIN, to think the RRoD is caused by heat, is just complete ignorance that continues to spread because of THE STUPID COMMUNITY. I really wish big sites like this one and IGN would run articles about this kind of stuff. That way people will stop trying to come up with and suggest silly ways of trying to keep your 360 cool. It's absolutely ridiculous.
