Problem streaming videos from PC to Xbox 360

I like to stream movies and videos from my PC to my Xbox 360 and it does work but sometimes it take the Xbox 360 forever for it to recognize that theres a movie file on my computer and I have to restart my computer several times and my Xbox 360 a couple times for it to finally see the movie. Is there any other way of getting my Xbox 360 to instantly show the video I have placed in the folder it looks at?

I just let Windows 7 share files on the computer with the network and it lets my Xbox 360 look at the video files in my Videos folder on my PC's account and stream it like that.
