if you are going to be playing online.. i recommend the 360 with the 60 gb hard drive. it is $100 moer but the hard drive is very necessary imo.

The Xbox 360 Arcade doesn't even have HD AV cables, only SD. I would not advise purchasing the Arcade version. The link below has a breakdown of what the arcade, pro and elite include.

The arcade doesn't come with HD cables, a hard drive, an ethernet cable, Kung-Fu Panda/Indiana Jones, or the uber-sexy chrome disc tray.

You are correct, you can always add a HDD. Yes it has an HDMI output. You can turn the arcade model into any version with upgrades.

Just take a gander at my "Xbox 360 FAQ & Game Recommendation Thread v3.2" at the top of the 360 board. Hopefully it will clear some things up. P.S. I recommend the Pro as well. Arcade is just useless.

You CAN play on Live, but for some games, you have to download map packs/updates to play. To play Halo 3, you have to have the free Heroic Map Pack, which is about 340 MB. Therefore, no Halo 3 Xbox Live Action for you :(

yeah and if you only have 256 it elminates a lot of your live options. the demos, arcade, xbox games, and videos. you wont have room for those. so its more like a required for a bigger handrive arcade wouldn't be a good choice

The 256mb memory card is for people who don't download it's ok for gamesaves but eventually you will need the 60GB harddrive so buy the pro or elite.
