decrease load times for most... not all games, sometimes it increases it or doesn't change it at all. plus its quieter
I only have a 20GB HDD so I can't use it, but I've never heard of it improving things like texture pop-in in unreal engine games or games with long draw distances like Oblivion, and I wonder why? Shouldn't it help with things like that by improving performance and seek times over the drive, or is so much info cached in most games that it doesn't matter.
Genius.I just do it so the disk drive is never running, so that my xbox won't get RROD.

A few times I have gotten "disc read errors" when the disc is perfectly clean. Installing the game from the disc to the hard drive fixed those problems, they seemed to pop up at the same time in the game. Load times seem slightly faster, which is nice if you're playing a game that needs to load frequently, so you save time on that.
The disc drives can fail on any console, so I do it to keep stress off my disc drive. The console also generates less heat when playing a game from HD than when it's being played from the disc drive. And, like others have said, it decreases load time for some games, but not all.
Never install Halo 3, it runs better from the disc because of the way it was designed. That's the only game I've heard of that you shouldn't install.
i justinstal my most played games. or games that freeze while running from the disc. like SR2 and SvR09
I need more opinions on that.If i install the game that it will be "increase load times and reduce noise"....?It is more safer for my 360..? Makes the game run smoother and faster..?
Games like Fallout 3 and oblivion they will play better after install..?The Oblivion on PS3 use 5GB.How many space they will take on my HDD...?:|
I installed Gears of War 2 because it keeps my disk from going unreadable. I lost so much exp. and killsbecause of that.
Always wondered this. I thought it was going to be like a modded original xbox (yes, silly me) but I heard that it makes big games such as Fallout 3, Oblivion, HAWX run a lot more smooth. Anybody know the actual reason?McSkurvy
My xbox likes to scartch my games, but not anymore with the installing feature :D
