I think it's safe to say we'll definitely see the game this year. Although I would have preferred Alan Wake 2, who's complaining? This could be a big hit.
Remedy stated that they won't be sharing any Quantum Break details until E3 2015 but rest assure that they did say that it will come out this year. Also Remedy is still working on the t.v tied to the game which the story will take place after the mini t.v series, just like Halo: Nightfall is doing.
I disagree, I don't think it's going to release this year. I hope it does though. E3 will determine who's right (well, actually, the game releasing will determine that).
I bought an Xbox 360 back in 2005 and one of the biggest reasons was the 2005 trailer shown for Remedy's Alan Wake.
It took 5+ years for Remedy to release the game as it changed over time which meant I could have waited to buy that Xbox 360 in 2010. Then the game released and while it was good, it wasn't the game changer I waited over five years for. With what little we have on the next Remedy QB game, the fact Xbox Entertainment TV division is shut down (there was an Xbox TV aspect to this game), and Remedy's own history, I expect the game not to release this year. I was a huge, HUGE supporter and promoter of Alan Wake on these boards years prior to the games release.
I learned my lesson with Alan Wait. I like the dev, and I hope it releases, but...I will never trust their dates again. Heck, in 2013 people were screaming on forums across the 'net and many times here at Gamespot.com that Quantum Break was releasing in 2014, and I told them the same thing. 2014 came and went and the game never released. I expect to be posting a similar post next year in early 2016 commenting about 2015 coming and going.
I treat Remedy now as a developer I like but refuse to get overHYPEd on. If they make it out, great, if they make me wait, I wasn't relying on them this gen so I'm fine. Since Max Payne, they certainly like to employ "bullet time" type gameplay in both Max Payne 1 & 2 and Alan Wake. It looks Quantum Break is doing something similar based on what little we have been shown. I'm fearful they have become a one trick pony (when it comes to slow down time and shoot mechanics/gameplay), but they make fun games so I'm on board either way.
