Simple question; is there a chance that theElite will get the "three red lights of death" or whatever it's called? Because I'm planning on getting one after mine got the ring of death.

yeah, they all can have that, but your better off getting an elite since it has HDMI and a hard drive 5 times the size of the premium for 80 bucks more, and even when you do get an xbox you are covered for 3 years after they DOP
Mines still doing fine and I don't have that worried feeling that something bad will happen. I play games on it for hours and I also download lots of shows and watch movies on it. I downloaded every freE3 Bringing It Home content and Comic Con Bringing On Content and I never worry about the space.

Why don't you wait until October and get an Elite with the new 65nm chip. But if your in a hurry then buy at your own risk I guess. If I do choose to buy an Elite I'm waiting for this chip first. In the meantime I'm having alot of fun playing Deus Ex! :P

In fact ANY hardware can have a failure. My first 360 at launch died - and my first PS3 died too. It's just a fact of technolgy.
I will say that the Elite is "less" likely to get the ROD than previous models. That was even stated awhile back in an interview with MS here on GS. The Elite does have some tweaking done to it to help it be more stable. It like ALL harware can still get the ROD though. Now...
I'm just trying to figure out a cool acronym for the PS3 failures. :)
For the most part, the Eiltes hardware is identical to the other xbox skus. Sure the Elite has more hd, hdmi and its black, but nothing else is different. Even though Microsoft tweaked a couple of things, they did not change the disc drive or its chip.Constant-Ra1n
Actually they DID change the chip - just not to the 65nm. I wish people would quit saying this.
The Elite has a different Motherboard revision, different CPU revision and different GPU revision than the Premium or Core. ALL of the major tech sites stated this in their initial tear downs during the Elites launch.
