I see that they have Red Dead Redemption for pre-order and you get a $20 gift card with it. So if you plan on buying 2 games it's like getting $20 off which is amazing on a new game. But it says it takes 5-9 days for shipping. Does that mean 5-9 days after the release date? It doesn't matter either way because that's where I will be getting it from. I will gladly wait an extra week to get money off of the games that I purchase new. But that would be good info to know for future purchases from them.

Yeah, from release date. In my experience though they usually overestimate shipping times. I got DA: Awakenings from them on the day it released using the free super-saver shipping.

Extremely fast in my past experience. I got Splinter Cell Conviction the very next day with free shipping.

I think I saw something on amazon, about getting it on release day... And yeah they do over estimate delivery, last game i ordered was told it was going to take a week, ordered on sat, got it on mon. Must have been a short week..

Amazon really overestimates shipping times, when I got my Turtle Beach and DA:O back in December, I ordered to 3-5 day shipping and got it in two.

If you pre-order a game with amazon weeks in advance you can get the game the day it releases for less than $5.. I'm getting Alan Wake and RDR May 18 and got like $30 or $40 in gift cards. Amazon FTW. (The total was like $97 + gift cards.)

Yeah, thanks for the info everyone. Unnecessary pre-order junk is one thing, but I'll take cold hard cash over it any day. And a gift card is just as good if you see yourself buying anything else from Amazon. As of a few years ago video games were about $52.00 from a distributer. I am guessing a few years later places that order huge amounts are getting them in the $45.00 range, so Amazon isn't eating very much on it anyways since they are only giving away more merchandise, and they are gaining a good reputation. As long as you aren't 12 years old and feel like you HAVE to have it on release day that's a real no brainer.

Love there next day shipping..doesn't cost a bunch as other company's try to charge you $30 for next day shipping. Amazon charges like $11. Or you can sometimes get the shipping free with super-saver and 2 day shipping free for 6months.
