If this means 3 year instead of 1 years from date of purchase is there any reason to buy the EXTENDED WARRATY for 5 years of coverage?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
the warranty is the reason whyyou get a free repair you idiot
If you didn't have a warranty then it would cost you to repair your xbox

sorry, i didn't mean to write that, i wasn't thinking.
Here (1st question) it says:
"Microsoft is extending the terms of its Xbox 360 warranty to three years for certain general hardware failures which are indicated by three flashing red lights on the console. This will apply to new and existing customers and we will retroactively pay back the out-of-warranty repair costs paid by customers for console problems indicated by the three flashing red lights"
does that mean only hardware failures will be fixed (not like disk drive problems or anything)?
I think he was asking why get an extended warranty (from a store). If you have bought an extended warranty then you can swap your Xbox 360 out for a new one without having to wait...jonkirst
no , i was asking like: is it still worth it to buy the 2 year extended warranty, if the 3 years only cover hardware failure? i mean if something goes wring with the disk drive, basically thats the only other thing that tends to go wrong, right? (ex. error codes, disk unreadale, ect.)
