I wanna download this update but I don't have xbox live. I heard you can burn xbox 360 updates to a disc and install it on your system. Is this a safe method because I do not want to get RROD.

RROD is a problem from the console overheating. I have never heard if you could burn updates to a disc, but that should not cause a RROD.
