Can game extras such as updates be installed through other methods than a HD and "MC"? Like through a CD or DVD? I'm about to buy a Xbox Core and since I don't download games or anything other than updates/extras (For example, the harder difficulty in Blue Dragon) the HD isn't important.

Are there any other disadvantages to the Core Arcade version that I don't know of?

i am pretty sure the core arcade version comes with a memory card, dont quote me on that though, but you can get a memory card and save it to that and then just install them
