Question about updating games (nhl 11)

Hey, I have been given an xbox360 recently, and I am planning on buying nhl11 for it's offline play. Therefore I am not going to be subscribing to xbox live, at least at the start. I know on the ps3 rosters are updated very regularly. Can I update rosters on the 360 for free or do I need to pay xbox live premiums to access the roster updates.

Maybe there is also a place online where I can get them, and then put them on a usb to install manually?

Just want to know what I am getting into before I go out and buy the game.

Yes, you can update the rosters

You'll go into the XBOX Live section and then go to play online, it'll see your old roster and update it but it wont let you play online but that's fine since you don't want to, just save the roster and use it offline
