With the announcement of the XBox Originals program, and just filling up my 20GB HD with XBox Live Arcade titles, downloads, etc. I'm contemplating upgrading to the 120GB HD. The only problem is I hear that you're not able to transfer all those things over to your new HD. Is this true? Would I be charged all over again for all these downloads?

Please give me a heads up! Thanks in advance!

When you buy the 120gb hd you have to get a transfer cable from microsoft for free.

But, even if you have to re-download your games they will still be full versions provided you use the same gamertag.

The games are tied to your gamertag, not the console or harddrive.

I had a premium about a year ago and sold it.

I now have an elite and re-downloaded all the xbox live games I owned before for no charge.

Just a quick note to help:

The Arcade titles are actually linked to the console as well as your gamertag. So if you are thinking about switching to Elite and getting the transfer cable you will need to be on Xbox Live at all times when using XBLA games on the new elite. (This is a security measure to prevent gamers using their GT on multiple consoles to download arcade games).

I switched to Elite over the summer and have had no problems after the transfer. All my saves and arcade games remained intact.

No, i'm pretty sure that the transfer cable comes with the 120 gb HD. I mean, it says it right on the back of the box.

The transfer cable is included if you buy the 120 hardrive. Those who upgraded to the Elite would have to contact Microsoft in order to receive the cable for free.
