So here's a kicker. I bought a 360 two summers ago with a 2 year Best Buy warranty. Last night, it red ringed after freezing several times. My warranty is up on July 18th so I very much lucked out. This was the "Pro" System back in the day. (20 GB hard drive.) I paid $299 for it and still have all my receipts and paperwork. Anyways, my question is, I'm going to venture in there tomorrow and replace this thing, and does anybody/employees have any idea how they will go about this? (Besides being difficult, probably.) Like, they don't make the Pro anymore. They make the Pro Arcade, but this retails for $179 when I paid $299. I called earlier to corporate who informed me they will match what I paid for it as long as I can prove I paid that much for it (which I can.) So does anyone know if I'll end up getting something else for it or......? Thanks guys.

Well since Microsoft stoped making the pro models i doubt they will have some in stock. So if they said they will give you a match for what you paid its a good chance your either going to get a elite console or the new Xbox

my friend had this same issue.. he got the same thing.. his old 360 died and he got the halo 3 console since it was the same price. then that one died and he got an elite cause it was the same price with the 120gb hdd. you will be able to return it for a console of the same price.

Is this the original warranty they used to do or the black tie one?

I doubt it. They'll get rid of whatever they have stocked first.

Bit of an update for you guys. I bought my warranty in July '08. Apparently starting in September '08, they ship it out, but before that, they have to exchange it in store. I was informed I will either receive a console of equal value ($299) or buy it off of me and give me the $300. (They're out in my city's Best Buy, Nashua, NH. But they do have them in Salem, NH.) So either way, I will probably be picking up a free slim because my 2 year old Xbox red ringed.....AMERICA.

Great deal. I guess paying for that warranty really helped in this case. I am in Manchester, NH myself. Try Best Buy at the Mall of N.H.
