Im looking into buying an HDtv or a monitor to play my 360 on. Ive seen it on my friends 57in song and it looks amazing but that price range is way out of my league. Im thinking about getting a monitor because there cheaper, but what i want to know is, will the quality of the picture look anywhere as good as an HDtv with component cables compared to a pc monitor with the VGA cables. Which should i go for?

They'll probably look about the same. The VGA cables might even look better.

Go for a monitor. I just bought a 22" widescreen for $230 which is an absolute bargain when you consider that an HDTV of the same size is around the $700 range. Also, once your really in a game, you don't actually realize how big of a "playable view" you are looking at. When you remember your game session, you remember what happened during that game, not how big it looked on your television. So, basically what you want a good display for is good picture quality and a high resolution. You get both with a LCD monitor, for a fraction of the cost of an HDTV display. Size isn't that big of a deal.

Get a LCD monitor. I hook my 360 up to a Samsung HDTV sometimes but most of the time a 19 inch LG monitor. It looks a little better on the monitor.
