Question for those purchasing the Elite.

What is your MAIN reason for purchasing the Elite?

I have a 56 Samsung 1080p DLP, so HDMI is my MAIN reason for "trading up". I have a co-worker that's purchasing my Premium for $300.

I could honestly give a crap about the 120 GB HD, and the black finish.

May 2 if i can find one.The main reason for my getting the ELITE= i hope mirosoft has fixed some of the issues with overheating,disk read error,ring of death,freezing,etc.The black finish and huge harddrive-all that is just a plus!!!!

I have the same tv. I really don't expect to see a improvement in picture quality. Maybe 1080p with the hdmi will make the hd-dvd player look a little better....maybe. But i expect the games to look exactly the same. We are already getting 1080p with the games on component cables. I have no good reason to get the Elite, though i will try to get one Sunday morning anyway. I traded a bunch of games in and got $230 store credit, and i will trade in my 360 to cover the rest. I just like the newest thing. I'm weak.

BTW, I read your entire post and didn't find it necessary to reply to it entirely. 

Your MAIN reason for purchasing the Elite is for the HDD, that's all I questioned. 

call me old fashioned but i seem to one of the few ppl on here who thinks its stupid to shell out thousands of dollars for a HD t.v whats wrong with standard def. also 479 bucks for a hd port and 120gb hard drive is kinda steep.

p.s not an attack on anyone capitalism is good and you all have a right to fufill your desires as long as they are legal

TC you need another option in there for people who dont want the elite, just the HD.

On my 40 lcd samsung 720p is there will be no "noticeable" difference between the hd componet cables and the hdmi plug in. If there is a difference it will be barely noticeable. Losing all my save game info and achievements is not worth me purchasing an elite, plus I dont need the hdmi hookup.

I use to think the same thing. Had a 32 in Sony standard televison. Had my 360 plugged into it and thought the graphics were absolutely gorgeous. Bought a 40 in samsung lcd hdtv and was absolutely blown away by the visuals. I swear you can see detail thats not possible on a standard televison. When I hooked up my 360 to the 40 in and stuck R6 in, I just couldnt believe just how much sharper, clearer and more detailed the visuals are. Its just no way I can go back to a standard television. But to each his own.........

My first buy, I was orginally getting the 360 in March, then they announced the Elite, glad I waited.
