What kind of material are the drum heads made out of? Do they feel real, or are they just some cheap plastic?

I only played on them very briefly (like one song) while at Best Buy, and IIRC they felt a lot like those rubber practice heads sometimes used for snare drums. It felt pretty good...didn't feel too cheap.

The drum heads are made out of a combination of rubber and plastic. I have a $1500 electronic drum kit that does feel better, but for $170, these babies are very solid and responsive. They are not too loud and allow for a quick playing due to the reasonable bounce level. See my profile for a few more thoughts in my review.
