I am planning to buy an xbox 360 but just wondering that does the  xbox 360 still have a problem of 3 red light due to overheating?

well im on my 5th xbox right now and I own one since dec 2nd 2005 (european release) and the with none of them had I a overheating problem which is two redlights btw, the other four just had a problem with the diskdrives

anyway if you get problems with your machine keep sending it back till you get a good one which I have now. I have this oe a couple of months and it hasn't even froze up on me once

MS stated that the defective rate for the X360 was about 3%. Whether that is true or not is a matter of debate.

Yes, it is a hardware fault that will be rectified in the fall along with a new smaller and more energy efficient chip. However, MS has a decent support for broken consoles and should be able to hook ya up fast if you have problems.

Debate? No......I would put a cash bet on it being almost 8-10 percent. :D waaaaaaay too many people have come foward for it to be 3 or for them to give it a fall hardware redesign :P
