I've never owned an Xbox but I suddenly want one.  From what you people know what do you think I should get, the Elite or the premium?

Depends wat you want to do with your 360. Premium is perfectly fine for gaming, you can download all the content and demos you want with its hard drive, but to get anything better than 1080p youd have to opt for a vga cable. Get Elite if you want to be downloading tonnes of media like hi def movies + tv shows and if your got a really nice HDTV the HDMI cable is just what you need.

Actually the Elite is probably the 'best money to what you get' deal

Go for the premium.  There is no reason to buy the Elite unless...

1.  You have a TV larger than50"
2.  You are goingto download everything on XBL

Another question, (I don't know if anyone will be able to answer this or not) can the premium do whatever the Elite can do?

the elite does nothing new

it only has a larger harddrive ( 120gb  and the premium has 20gb) and HDMI

but you can get 1080p with vga cable on a premium  or if you have 42" or larger HDTV through component.but yeah depends on your tv

well with the hdmi connection on the Elite that lil color fading u get using the vga cable should be solved. The fading doesnt bother me. I like the sharp, clean, clear pic I get from using the vga cable but kinda curious to see the picture with a hdmi cable. If u willing to spend the $479 i'd say go for the Elite if its yur foirst 36, but the premium a good console to get for $400. Either way I doubt u will be disappointed.

Oh and the VGA cable doesnt come with the premium or the Elite. The cable is like $30 I think. I definately recommend it if yur tv has a vga connection and whose native resolution is 1920 x 1080 (1080p).

So the best cord you can get for the 360 is the VGA cable?  If so does anyone have a picture comparing the ordinary to the best?

Notice the fading I mentioned w/ the vga cable. This pic kinda shoots my recommendation to use vga cables vs. component cables but i still perfer the vga connection.

There is definatley a difference in the cables.  Even though its not as sharp I like the first picture better because of the darker appearence.

if you have FioS or U-Verse in your area, then the Elite could bring IPTV to you! (I think, so that is a good reason to get it.....)

maybe....by the end of the year.....

Yes @ darker. U'd have to play w/ the brightness levels w/ the component cables. The console auto sets yur settings when the vga cable is plugged in. I plugged my vga cable to the 360 first time it automatically set my res to 1920 x 1080p WS. It scanned my tv for the best res for my tv and set it. I was like..hey...nice. U can still go to the settings menu and change the res and aspect ratio if u want. With the component cables u'd have to set everything manually which really isnt that big of a deal unless u are ultra lazy. But its on u. Either way u will get a good gaming experience.
