I Just started The Fall Of Reach today, and I really enjoy it, But a few questions were racing through my mind the entire time.

1) Are the books actualy a part of the Halo games? Or is it like fan-fiction, where it's just bullsh*t that the author gets paid to write and has no connections to the game.

2) Is it just me, or is the book REALLY good? I mean, like, I'm only at chapter nine but I'm really intrigued by Chief's background.

But Yeah..

Just wondering if the books are fan fiction or actually part of the universe.

Yes the books are related to the games. _The Fall of Reach_ is a prequel to Halo:CE, _The Flood_ follows the same story as Halo:CE, and _First Strike_ takes place immediately after Halo:CE and leads up to Halo 2. I haven't read _Ghosts of Onyx_ yet, but from what I understand it does not chronicle any of Master Chief's story, but is still related.

The Fall of Reach is the Prequal to the first game, The Flood is the story of the First game, then First Strike takes place after the first game but before the second and then Ghost of Onyx takes place during the same time as First Strike but with a different setting and story.

So the books ARE an expansion to the story of the games?

Sweet!

I hope the rest is as good as the first nine chapters I've read!

BTW

SPOILERS

I heard there is a sex scene in one of the books

@_@

Bungie worked closely with the writers of the books and gave him information directly from the "halo bible."

IMO the books are the best part of the story...but I do believe the first one was the best.

I suggest that you go ahead and read through the flood...its tough to get through but it has some extra information.

Hate to dissapoint you. The SPARTANs are mentioned at some point as to have no sex-drive on account of the whole surgery-drugs-training thing they had to go through. They are all highly focused, highly trained, highly dependable killing machines.

= no sex.

I've read up to Chapter 14 or so. I think it's the story of Master Chief (that name is so silly. MASTER CHIEF. It might as well be Head Leader...:| anyway) being enlisted into the Spartan program from his adolescence to Halo Wars, which takes place before the 1st Halo.

Even if the books are as you said they may be in #1, who cares, I've enjoyed my reading.
