Do yourself a favor and buy/learn the soultrap spell, you don't need the duration very high as long as you whittle down the enemies health first. Also, do the Azura's Star quest for the unbreakable grand soulgem.

Dude, I just do the item duplicate glitch and get infinite money so idc about the costs, lol. Well, if you were going to use glitches, couldn't you just duplicate a filled soul gem? (I'd like to get this game soon; I loved Morrowind and Fallout 3 ...)
You use soul gems and also certain shops and people in mages guilds will recharge them. I think the spell shops in imperial city market recharges them.
