Right I'm just going to jump straight in, I'm sure someone here can help. I've had a XBOX 360 for just under a month and when I first bought it, I paid (using my bankcard) the first month's payment of £4.99. Now my question is this, when this month's subsription has ended will Microsoft automatically take another £4.99 payment from my account or will I have to re-new it as I did when I first had my 360. I ask this because on that date there will be no funds in my account. Thanks in advance!

Yep, they'll automatically keep taking money out of your account every month. You can ask them to switch your account to Silver and they will stop taking the payments.

If a periodically empty bank account is a problem (it certainly was for me when I was a student) I'd suggest you stick to buying Live cards when you have the money. When they run out your account will automatically switch to Silver status, and you get to keep all your achievements etc. It's a nice system because you don't lose all that stuff just because you don't have the money that month.

Cheers grayoldwolf, that really helps, I guess I'll just have to phone their helpline and ask them to cancel the direct debit after this month. It sucks because money will be going back into the account like two days after the subscription expires. Ah well. Cheers again man.
