So i recently bought a VGA cable to my xbox to play on my computer screen. I have noticed likte that the textures look kinda f*cked, my resolution is 1280x1024. Is there any way to avoid this, it's especially noticable when you use the guide.

What sort of monitor you use?

If you use a 4:3 (what I think you are doing because you use 1280x1024), then this normal, because console games are almost always made for wide screen, but some games support a good resolution on 4:3 too, like DOA4.

You can go to the config menu of your 360, there where you change your resolution and there is such option (dont know the name in english) and switch to "advanced". Also dont forget to switch from 16:9 into 4:3.

You should buy a 16:10 Monitor, its like a HDTV. I just bought myself an 22" Acer last week, cheap and pretty good.

22" Monitors are anyway not so expensive any more.

You guys in USA have good, because everything is so cheap...here in EU, those damn monitors are so damn expenisve...

The guide does look bad, don't know why but it seems to be rendered at a small resolution then filtered up to the set res (and filtered badly too). thats got nothing to do with the cable. But if theres too much contrast, bleeding, ghosting or anything like that the cable is dodgy and you should get a new one.

I live in europe too :D , but im glad to not be a member of EU. I live in norway BTW. Yeah i was thinking about getting a LG monitor, those are so cheap these days. and the fact that it's supposed to be widescreen is REALLY noticable. But gears of wars looks really good aswell, it cuts the screen as if it was a widescreen. I dont get a large picture but it's still awesome.
