Okay, So ive finally got Xbox Live. I was playing on halo 3, and fifa 08 earlier, although it did not let me talk to anybody, or let me hear anybody whilst playing these games. My account is under 18, as i am 16, and i am currently in my months free trial period. Im assuming that you should be able to talk to the opponent (for example in fifa 08) whilst you are playing with them, if they have a headset.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Make sure your headset is fully plugged in and not switched to mute, also make sure the volume on your mic is turned up, if you still can't hear people, check the options in the game and make sure hear people either through the headset or your TV speakers. If that doesn't work, then make a new account over 18.

that post was very hard to understand. Do you mean can they hear you even if they dont have a headset plugged in, yes the can hear you through their speakers. also could you maybe explain your other problem a little more clearly.

Sorry if post was not clear.

Whilst playing halo 3 and fifa 08 on live earlier, I had my headset plugged in, but i could not hear anybody whilst playing.

Im assuming that when playing halo 3, you should be able to hear your teammates at least. Any ideas as to why i can not communicate, or hear?

I need you to to try something. Go to your settings blade, go to network connections. Test your connection. Right at the bottom should be your NAT setting. It should say either OPEN, MODERATE or STRICT.

It should say any one of those. If its on OPEN then the problem lies elsewhere. If is on MODERATE or STRICT then that might explain your problems communicating on XBL.

Under 18 accounts (child accounts) are defaulted to be unable to talk to other people online. Go under Xbox Live settings - Family settings under the system blade to make changes. Otherwise, just make a new account and say you're over 18.
