In one of those "I bet you didn't saw that one coming" the guys at 360fanboy have found out that the new 120GB new HDD for the 360 is actually a cheap chienese SATA HDD that is worth 100 bucks and NOT the special external-like-self-powered HDD Aaeron Greenberg told us it was to justify the high price

http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2007/04/20/120gb-360-hdd-worth-only-100/

Now this and the recent teamxbox rant about how overpriced the Gold service was kind of makes you think about MS buisness model :?

Well I guess MS has to make up for the red numbers in their Home and Intretainment divicion that analysts have named "Disastrous" for the company and investors

now I bet yo later on we will see some "tips" on how to "update" your 20GB 360s HDD to 120GB courtesy of our "internet friends" ;)

well they scrwed themselves over when the priced a 20gb at $100( way overpriced ), now that a 120gb hardrive is wrth $100 theres no way they can sell it for $100. thered be no reason for people to buy the 20gb and everyone that did before would feel ripped.

MS is trying to start to turn profits in their gaming division, so we're bound to be vastly overpaying for accessories like this... it sucks.

Well it's not 'cheap' in the sense of bad quality (just so everyone knows :P) that's just how inexpensive Hard-Drives are now-adays $100 for 20GB is a complete rip-off though you can find at least 80gb's for like $20 now anyways

Both of these drives are 40GB bigger so 160GB and they're cheaper by $100 :D (So one of these 160GB drives is equal to buying two 20GB = $200 and one 120GB  = $200 MS drive, so $400 for the same space? as a $100 drive?)

and if you don't believe that those size HDD are that cheap >> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822149058

and another im not sure if the MS-Drive is SATA or Serial ATA so >>

And this is surprising how? The official Microsoft branded 360 accessories have been hideously overpriced. $100 bucks for a wireless adapter? It astonishes that people somehow think that MS is a consumer friendly company. How many times have they been pulled into court for monopolistic practices on the PC side?

It's true. All they've done is formatted it with like 2gigs worth of software. The 20gig was just some normal HDD with formats on it. Considering it costs £70 here in the UK close to $140. The 120gig will most likely cost     £200+, for that price you can buy a terrabite HDD.

U can @ use any external / notebook harddive for the 360 but takes a lil know how. And Sata and Serial ATA are the same thing. the S in sata stands for serial. Did u mean u didnt know if it was a Sata or Sata 3.0gb (SATA II) drive? @ previous post. And why are people surprised with MS's overpricing? They have been doing it for years. Come on now. lol.
