"Big Daddy's" tip help plz !!!

I borrowed a copy of Bioshock from a buddy, wasn't sure i'd like it or not - aside from the game over all being pretty wierd, it's kinda fun. It'll hold me over until GTA 4 hits my hand next week.

Anyway - is there a easier way to kill those Big Daddy bots ? Seems like the only way I can kill them is to freeze them w/the electric shock thing (whatever those things are calls, plasmids or something) then get a shot or 2 in with the shotgun or whatever. I have the grenade launcher with seemed to work a bit quicker.

Any tips ? Thanks in advance.

The best way to take down a Big Daddy is to use the Electric Crossbow bolts, Shot a few a cross the room and wait for the Big Daddy to walk into them. Sidburn19

Aye. Then either blast them with a Heat-Seeking RPG, or use the machine gun with armour-piercing bullets.

use proximity(sp?) mines (about 5ish), place them on anexplosive barrel then switch to Telekenesis(sp?) and throw it at the big daddy, Then shot him with an electric shotgun and hell go down. Thats if your playing on hard, which you should be. If you dont have mines anything electric or armor peircing will work but will take longer. Trip wires are good 2.

but the absolute best way to kill a big daddy Run up to it with your wrench and wack it several times, That is there only weakness it will go down in a few hits, try to get behind it.

The Big Daddy won't attack you until you attack it. Use that advantage to set traps.

I like to use a combination of trap bolts and proximity mines. These can be used in combination with nearby water features and explosive barrels, respectively, to enhance the power of your trap. Just make sure that the Big Daddy has no other way to reach you than by going through your trap. A couple of times I underestimated how smart they are and they flanked my trap. Then I was stuck between an enraged Big Daddy and my own trap. Didn't end well.

Armour piercing rounds for the machine gun are a good standby too, just in case the trap doesn't completely kill the BG you can spray it down to finish it off.
